My Husband Turned Twenty
You're Still Beautiful

Episode 9 / 10

Their relationship had visibly changed.

In the morning, Seongho handed Jiyeon coffee first. Jiyeon straightened the collar of his shirt.

In the car, they held hands without thinking about it.

After schedules, they ate together.

Before, even when they were home together, they each looked at their own phones. Now, after spending the entire day together, they still talked about what had happened.

Sometimes Jiyeon would catch herself laughing and think it was strange.

Eleven years married, and they felt like newlyweds.

One evening, after filming, Seongho had removed his makeup and was walking with Jiyeon by the river.

Jiyeon glanced at him.

Long legs.

Clear skin.

A body that seemed to recover from fatigue almost instantly.

(Jiyeon) : “Must be nice.”

(Seongho) : “What?”

(Jiyeon) : “Being twenty again.”

Seongho looked at her.

(Seongho) : “Where did that come from?”

(Jiyeon) : “Nowhere.”

Jiyeon looked down at the back of her own hand.

(Jiyeon) : “You suddenly became twenty. I'm still the same.”

Seongho smiled.

(Seongho) : “So?”

(Jiyeon) : “What do you mean, so?”

(Seongho) : “What's wrong with thirty-nine?”

Jiyeon scoffed.

(Jiyeon) : “That's easy to say with a twenty-year-old face.”

Seongho stopped walking.

Jiyeon stopped too.

He looked at her face for a long moment.

He wasn't joking.

(Seongho) : “You still look beautiful to me.”

Jiyeon laughed.

(Jiyeon) : “Your face got younger and suddenly you're smooth too?”

(Seongho) : “I'm serious.”

Jiyeon didn't answer.

Seongho tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear.

(Seongho) : “I liked you when you were twenty-five.”

He paused.

(Seongho) : “I like you now too.”

Jiyeon looked away.

Her face was hot again.

(Jiyeon) : “Why are you so cheesy these days?”

(Seongho) : “You like it.”

(Jiyeon) : “Who does?”

(Seongho) : “You.”

Jiyeon pinched his arm.

Seongho laughed.

They started walking again.

A little later, Seongho reached for her hand first.

This time, Jiyeon naturally laced her fingers through his.

That night, they sat beside each other on the sofa at home.

The TV was on, but neither of them was really watching.

Seongho suddenly said,

(Seongho) : “Jiyeon.”

(Jiyeon) : “Yeah?”

For a while, Seongho seemed to choose his words.

(Seongho) : “Do you want to try again?”

Jiyeon looked at him.

She knew immediately what he meant.

A child.

A subject they hadn't touched in a long time.

Jiyeon lowered her gaze.

Seongho spoke slowly.

(Seongho) : “Not like before. Not because we have to.”

Jiyeon listened.

(Seongho) : “We both had such a hard time with the hospital and everything.”

(Jiyeon) : “Yeah.”

(Seongho) : “This time, I just...”

He took her hand.

(Seongho) : “I want us to try together again.”

Jiyeon couldn't answer right away.

It wasn't that she'd stopped wanting a child.

She had simply pressed that wish down for so long.

It was scary to hope again.

They could be disappointed again.

Seongho said,

(Seongho) : “If you don't want to, we don't have to.”

Jiyeon looked at him.

It was strange hearing those words from a twenty-year-old face.

But the eyes were the same Seongho she'd always known.

Jiyeon smiled faintly.

(Jiyeon) : “Let's try.”

Seongho's eyes widened a little.

(Jiyeon) : “But this time, let's not make it the only thing in our lives.”

(Seongho) : “Okay.”

(Jiyeon) : “Let's take care of us first.”

Seongho smiled.

(Seongho) : “I think we've been doing a pretty good job of that lately.”

Jiyeon laughed too.

Seongho pulled her toward him.

Jiyeon naturally rested her head on his shoulder.

They decided to wait for a child again.

Not because they thought their marriage was incomplete without one.

They were already two people falling for each other again.

They were simply taking out one old wish,

and allowing themselves to hope for it once more.
