My Husband Turned Twenty
It Really Feels Like We're Dating Again

Episode 7 / 10

Lately, Jiyeon was taking a little longer to get ready.

More specifically, to get ready to follow Seongho to his schedules.

She spent a little longer choosing clothes.

She checked the mirror one extra time.

The day she realized what she was doing, Jiyeon stared at herself at the vanity in disbelief.

(Jiyeon) : “What am I doing?”

She was going to work as her husband's manager.

Who exactly was she trying to impress?

That day, when she arrived at the studio, Seongho looked at her.

(Seongho) : “You look pretty today.”

Jiyeon immediately put down her bag.

(Jiyeon) : “What does that mean?”

(Seongho) : “Nothing. You just do.”

(Jiyeon) : “Stop saying useless things and get ready.”

Seongho walked away laughing.

Jiyeon pointlessly touched her hair.

The day's schedule ended late at night.

Seongho showered and came back into the waiting room.

His stage makeup was gone, and his black hair was still damp, falling slightly over his forehead.

Jiyeon looked up from her phone.

And paused again.

Somehow, this looked even more unfamiliar than his perfectly styled stage appearance.

A clean forehead beneath wet hair.

A bare face.

Straight shoulders beneath a simple T-shirt.

Seongho sat on the sofa.

(Seongho) : “Towel.”

Jiyeon threw one at him.

(Jiyeon) : “Dry your hair. You'll catch a cold.”

Seongho looked at her with the towel sitting on his head.

(Seongho) : “Do it for me.”

Jiyeon gave him an incredulous look.

(Jiyeon) : “You don't have hands?”

(Seongho) : “You're my manager.”

(Jiyeon) : “Managers dry hair too?”

Seongho smiled.

(Seongho) : “A wife could.”

Jiyeon glanced around.

Luckily, they were alone.

(Jiyeon) : “You're seriously high-maintenance.”

She said it, but took the towel from him anyway.

Jiyeon roughly rubbed his hair a few times.

(Seongho) : “Hey, gently.”

(Jiyeon) : “No.”

Seongho laughed.

Then Jiyeon's hands stopped.

They were too close.

With Seongho seated and Jiyeon standing, their eyes were almost level.

His gaze showed through the damp strands of hair.

Seongho looked up at her too.

Neither of them spoke for a few seconds.

Jiyeon looked away first.

She dropped the towel over his head.

(Jiyeon) : “Do the rest yourself.”

Seongho pulled the towel away, smiling.

(Seongho) : “Why? All of a sudden?”

(Jiyeon) : “Can't be bothered.”

Seongho didn't answer.

He just kept looking at her with that smile.

A few days later, they were in the car on the way to another shoot.

Jiyeon's seat belt got twisted.

(Jiyeon) : “Why won't this work?”

Seongho leaned toward her.

(Seongho) : “Hold still.”

His arm crossed in front of Jiyeon.

His face came close.

Jiyeon stopped breathing for a moment.

First she saw his shoulder and the line of his neck.

If she turned her head just a little, their faces might touch.

Seongho calmly untangled the belt.

Click.

(Seongho) : “There.”

But he didn't move away immediately.

Their eyes met.

Jiyeon felt her heart race again.

Seongho smiled faintly.

(Seongho) : “Red again.”

Jiyeon pushed his shoulder.

(Jiyeon) : “Go away.”

(Seongho) : “My seat is right here.”

(Jiyeon) : “Just go.”

Seongho laughed as he leaned back.

(Jiyeon) : “Your face is the problem.”

(Seongho) : “What's wrong with my face?”

(Jiyeon) : “It looks like it's trying way too hard.”

Seongho burst out laughing.

(Seongho) : “What does that even mean?”

(Jiyeon) : “I don't know.”

Jiyeon laughed too.

After a while, they both fell quiet.

Seongho said,

(Seongho) : “Don't you think we've been kind of weird lately?”

Jiyeon had been thinking the same thing.

(Jiyeon) : “How?”

(Seongho) : “We're together all day.”

He looked at her.

(Seongho) : “Feels like we're dating.”

Jiyeon was silent for a moment.

Then she laughed.

(Jiyeon) : “We've been married eleven years.”

(Seongho) : “Exactly.”

Jiyeon looked at him.

(Jiyeon) : “Is it weird?”

Seongho watched her for a moment.

(Seongho) : “No.”

Then he smiled.

(Seongho) : “I kind of like it.”

Jiyeon smiled too.

It really was strange.

They had lived together for eleven years.

And yet somehow,

it felt like they had just started dating again.
